Should I sign up for the Disney Vacation Club?

I have kids 6 and 7 and we usually travel to Disneyland and Disney World once a year.

Probably not. You can find better deals online through AAA, hotel chains, or maybe your car insurance company. Look at Travelocity also, they offer excellent service and cheap deals. Check those sources first.

  2. hottiegirl#1 Says:

Of course. If you go there every year. Disney is awesome.

    Yeah.

The membership fee is pretty steep, they buy-in is around 15K, and they still have annual dues. Just like with any other Time Shares if it is something you will get use out of it might be worth it. However, you could also use that money and put it in investments and then take out any gains and use that each year for your vacations.

yes of corse ,if ur kids love disneyland &disneyworld.

  6. Beach Gal Says:

I only recommend the Disney Vacation Club for folks who visit 2-3 or more times per year. The up-front cost is outrageous and it won’t be worth your money if you only visit once a year.

Try a timeshare program instead – VRI Resorts (http://www.vriresorts.com) is a great timeshare company and they cost a lot less money.

If you can afford it, sure. I am a Disney Fanatic and personally LOVE Walt Disney World. I try to go at least once a more and would certainly go more often if I had the money. If I could afford it, I’d definitely join the Disney Vacation Club. I definitely plan to when I’m older.

Have you checked out the Disney Vacation Club website yet? You can order a free DVD about the Disney Vacation Club. I think you can just watch it straight from the website, too…

I think its worth it if you do travel atleast once a year. But for the amount of money you pay a month you can only afford to go once per year. Some times you can get better deals on a hotel, but the hotels for the Vacation Club are much nicer and you could probobly spend a weekend in the hotel alone and still have a good time. I would reccomend next time you are in Disney World, go to Downtown disney and go to a vacation club booth. From there they will take you to their newest hotel and explain how it works and show you the room.

  9. DeeGee Says:

We’ve been vacation club members since 2001 and it’s a great thing for our family. Since it’s a little costly you know you will use it. You don’t have to go to Disney, we’ve gone on cruises and New York City and stayed at the Plaza on our Disney points. It’s great for the family and we plan on giving our kids honeymoon’s when they get married.
    I think it’s a great investment!
